The man in the video below is Mike Guglielmucci. It was diagnosed that he had cancer, but the strong and courageous him took his guitar and got up the stage with the respirator. I wouldn't say that was a beautiful stunt or another one of the many gimmicks people use to grab other people's attention. I just wondered, if I were in his shoes, would I have the same courage to be praising God despite my illness? With all the agony and seemingly hopeless situation, can I still be found faithful and trust in His power?
I don't have a definite answer, but I wait for the day when I'm ready to say yes.
Recently, people around me are in pain. Sometimes I find myself in pain too. Then when we are all broken hearted, we lose sight of the things ahead and wallow in self pity. Whenever depressing situations come my way, I'll be shooting God with thousands of "why" questions. And then I'll go my own way, thinking I can jolly well survive by myself and with the company of friends, until one day when I'll be like the prodigal son, coming home with an even more broken heart and spirit. But the thing is, my Father is always waiting for me to run back to His arms. That's Him, even when we stop being nice, He cannot stop being nice because that's His nature.
I think the Lord just wants me to testify to His goodness. He wants me to tell you, the one in pain and shattered pieces, that He has been there since the beginning of time, and He will walk with you till the end of age. Acts 17 "He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else..He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live". The very Father who gives you life will be faithful enough to guide you through life.
Just when you think nobody knows your pain, Jesus knows. He endured much suffering on earth for our sakes, and went through the most cruel form of death during His time; crucifixion. He knows your very thoughts and feelings, He really does.
This isn't a concert! We don't put up shows..each and every person you see lift his hands and heart towards his Creator. May the words of a simple song give you a renewed and refreshed touch :) And then I'll know I've accomplished what the Lord wants me to do.
i left my footprints (:
